In the past in Japan, the term 'Christmas cake' was used to allude to unmarried women. Female over 25 years old was seen as a leftover cake after 25th December. Inspired by the Japanese Christmas cake, which typically has 'well-shaped' strawberries on top, this work embodies female issues such as marriage, sexual objectification, and stereotypical imageries.
