These two works, a chandelier and a tower-like cake, are based on my study about how female beauty and sexuality are valued. Casting shadows is another process of transformation turning three-dimentional figures back into two-dimentional representation. Furthermore it was coloured by lights to be given different connotations. The white work sit on a turning table in order to cast a rotating shadow of an intricate structure.
価値に還元される女性の美と性をテーマに制作した作品。
白い作品はウエディングケーキを想起させると共に、ヒエラルキーの構造を呈する。黒いシャンデリアは蜘蛛のような形をしており、網タイツやハイヒール、学生服などの記号で構成され、性を貨幣価値に変換する女性達を連想させる。
赤と青のライトを同じ角度から当てることにより、着色された影は、「影＝光の不在」という概念を覆す。黒くない影は、影と呼べるだろうか。私は、女性はこうあるべき、こうあってはならない、という観念から自由になりたいと思いつつ、それに左右され、影響され、逃れることができない。 それは、つきまとう影のようでもあり、影は黒いという固定概念に縛られていることとも似ている。
